In the spirit of Star Wars, video editor and experimenter Mathieu Stern has released a quick and easy tutorial for the festive season focusing on levitation photography. All you need to look like a Jedi master is a model, a lightsaber, some stools, and a tripod.
Three photos need to be taken; one with the model sitting on the stool, one with someone holding the prop, and one of just the background. From here a bit of Photoshop wizardry is needed to remove the stool, isolate the prop, and fill in missing details. Of course, there is a simpler way to levitate in photographs, although we wouldn’t recommend try to do it crossed-legged!
