Isn’t it suuuuch a drag when you’re out with the squad and want to snap a quick instant selfie but like, cringe, your camera sooo doesn’t match your outfit? No? Congratulations, you aren’t a total lunatic.

However for the rest of you manic fashionistas out there. Fujifilm have got your needs sorted by collaborating with billionaire fashion designer Michael Kors to create and unveil the MICHAEL KORS x FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 70.

Yes, on the inside it may just be a standard Mini 70, but on the outside it’s the ultimate fashion accessory. Honestly, we don’t have any idea if that’s the case. Most of this office (save for the haute couture god that is The Bloody Producer) show up to work in shorts and comic book t-shirts. However, it appears that Fuji put a lot of thought into this.

“Fashion and photography are about giving a voice to individuals as they express themselves, and this exclusive INSTAX Mini 70 by Michael Kors is the pinnacle of style and substance,” said Mark Yamamoto, President and CEO of FUJIFILM North America. “We are seeing an explosion of excitement in instant photography today, and now consumers can make a stylish statement with the combination of INSTAX and the luxury of the Michael Kors brand. ”

Dialling back on the ridiculous overindulgence of that quote, let’s break down what makes this camera so stylish – it’s gold.

That’s it. It’s not gold-plated, embossed with an intricate design or encrusted with diamonds; it’s a gold coloured, absolutely average INSTAX Mini 70. Oh, it also has Michael Kor’s printed name on it. That’s important.

To be fair, Kors is legitimately regarded as one of the world’s greatest designers. He could have worked with Fujifilm to craft something visually stunning but instead their combined wisdom went with, “We could make it gold?” It feels like a missed opportunity of gargantuan proportions to squander a resource like that and push what amounts to the camera equivalent of a superhero movie-themed cereal box for New York Fashion Week fans.

Angry rant regardless, it still is an exclusive and does look slightly prettier than a regular Mini 70 if you’re into the things you own being gold coloured. If you really do want one you’ll be pleased to hear it will be available from the beginning of October for a limited time through the holiday season. Yep, they’re aiming at the gifting market with this one, which is why it will come sold in a bundle, including ready-to-use film.

Now the question is – who in your life needs one of these?
