Opinion: Instagram Could Really Use AI or Curators for Hashtags

Sometimes I wonder if photographers genuinely just don't know the differences between one genre or another--but most of the time I believe that folks try to penetrate any hashtag that they possibly can in an attempt to get the most traction on Instagram.

It's pathetic. It's stupid and quite honestly it's a slap in the face to photography. But Instagram has proven time and time again that they don't care and that they'll instead just try to serve you ads and keep you on their platform as much as possible. However, one of the best things that they could do is create community curated hashtags with actual editors in the same way that Tumblr did. Though the now almost dead platform for porn was pretty much mostly used for, well, you know, it did a great job with community curated options. .
