A trusted Zeiss source told me Zeiss will have a new FE lens announcement at the PDN show in late October. Probably one new Batis lens. I am not sure yet about the focal length of the lens but previous unconfirmed rumors said this could be a tele lens (135mm???).

The Sony A5100 got marked as discontinued at Digitalrev (Click here). The A5100 is certainly long due for replacement. But I suspect the Kumamoto earthquake did mess up with Sony’s replacement plan.

One of our sources confirmed Zeiss will launch new Sony FE lens(es) next week! He didnt’ share the specs yet and we don’t know if it’s a Batis or Loxia or both they will announce! But we know one of the lenses Zeiss wanted to launch this year is a Loxia tele lens.
Tomorrow (on Friday 9th September at 9. 00am CET) Sony will announce the new Sony 18-110mm f/4. 0 G PZ APS-C E-mount lens. You can follow the video live stream here on SAR! A source also told me the new Sony PZ lens will be compatible with the Sony teleconverters.
There is also a blurred out image of the new lens. For perspective and scale, in the background to the left and center it appears to be the Trioplan 50 and Trioplan 100. So you can see that the new lens has a profile similar to the T50.

Mirrorlessrumors leaked the images of three new Milvus lenses (15mm f/2. 8, 18mm f/2. 8, 135mm f/2. 0. ). These are Canon or Nikon mount lenses that will work fine on your Sony A7 too (with adapter).

A trusted source sent me the first images of the new Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6. 3 lens! There will be a version with VC (in lens stabilization) for Canon and Nikon and one without VC for Sony A-mount.
We got the list of products that will be announced tomorrow by Sony (September 1st at 1pm Berlin). The only camera they will announce is the Sony FDR X3000 4K action camera that got announced months ago in Japan only.

Sony invited the press for a press conference on September 19 at 15:00 Berlin time. This is by no means a guarantee of a new product announcement. We have seen in the past that Sony prefers to announce the most exciting stuff on a separate “solo” event.
